Patikonda (Kurnool): Sharpening his attack on the Opposition mainly the Telugu Desam Part, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said the next elections will be like the Kurukshetra war between DPT (Dochuko, Panchuko, Tinuko) and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Asking people to act wisely, he said they should be cautious about the sinister designs of TDP and the media close to it. He was addressing a huge public meeting here while releasing Rs 3,923.21 crore to 52.30 lakh farmers under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan programme.
This is the fifth tranche of disbursement under YSR Rythu Bharosa-PM Kisan. With this, each farmer receives Rs 5,500 directly into the bank accounts from the State Government and another Rs 2,000 from the Centre under the PM Kisan Yojana.
Reddy said “believing farmers’ welfare is State welfare, your government has extended support of YSR Rythu Bharosa for the fifth consecutive year which was not mentioned in the manifesto. With this assistance, we have distributed Rs 61,500 to each farmer across the State.” He slammed TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu for enacting a big drama by releasing an attractive manifesto just before elections and planning to hoodwink the people later. “Our manifesto came from the hearts of the people of Andhra Pradesh which I gathered during my padayatra. But Naidu’s manifesto was written in Karnataka because he is a non-resident of AP.”
In an all-out attack, the Chief Minister said “Naidu is an enemy of farmers and the so-called Mahanadu held recently at Rajamahendravaram was yet another drama. They deceived TDP founder NTR when he was alive, and now they are claiming him as a Yuga Purush. AP is like Kurukshetra and the next war will be between DPT of TDP and DBT of YSRCP,” he opined.
Giving details on the performance under the present regime, he said the State Government has been extending assistance of Rs 13,500 every year with the first installment of Rs 7,500 in May at the time of Kharif sowing season, the second installment of Rs 4,000 in October during the Kharif harvesting season, and the third installment of Rs 2,000 in January/February. With the present distribution of Rs 3,923 crore under Rythu Bharosa the State Government has disbursed Rs 30,985 crore so far in the last four years to farmers.
He pointed out that the YSRCP Government had delivered more than what was assured to the people during the 2019 elections. Financial assistance of Rs 12,500 per year for four years was promised in the manifesto for the farmers. However, the government has extended the scheme for five years with an assistance of Rs 13,500 every year.
